PFBL 2013 "Final" Standings

The 2013 season saw a wild finish, both in the MLB and the PFBL.  Congrats again to the Cakes!

Here is what Yahoo claims to be the final standings:

The only problem with these standings is that they are final as of 9/30/13 at 2:19am.  The last MLB regular season game of 2013 took place some sixteen hours after that.  Stats from that game are not counted due to an arcane Yahoo rule:

Talk about insult to injury!  For the second year in a row, my team lost a spot in the standings on the final day.  Except that this year, I had not yet maxed out my innings pitched limit, and I still had a starter yet to play.  That starter pitched a gem:

Price's line from Game 163--9 IP, W, CG, 2 ER, 1 BB, 4 K--would normally fetch 25 points in the PFBL, which would have been enough to propel my team to 4th place ahead of the Left Outs.

Alas, that game never happened.  David Price didn't pitch a complete game win on Monday.  The Rays did not beat the Rangers to advance to the AL Wild Card game.  According to Yahoo, not only did Game 163 not matter, it didn't exist.  At least for fantasy baseball purposes it didn't.

The Skies have had a tough last week of the 2013 season.  The end of the season rules seemed to have been stacked against my team.

Oh well, I guess I will just have to make the most of my 6th overall non-keeper pick in 2014.

That, and win the 2013 PFFL.  I wonder who is in first place in the Colorado division...

  1. Thus my calling it the penultimate day of the season...
Alas, We have little influence as this service is provided "free". Or not.
Left Outs did have a player earn two points in the uncounted game.
