On Sunday, the Grand Junction Rockies defeated the Idaho Falls Chukars 9-5. That, in addition to the Ogden Raptors 4-2 win over the Orem Owlz, gave the GJ Rox a berth in the Pioneer League playoffs. Led by Pioneer League MVP Davin Dahl, the Colorado Rockies' Rookie-level affiliate will begin the playoffs on Friday against Ogden in a best-of-three series.
Well, Rox fans, are any of you looking to get some Grand Junction Rockies gear? And isn't it great to see people in Rockies uniforms celebrating? The Grand Junction Sentinel has some video of the post-game non-alcoholic cider showers.
Go Junction Rox! Beat Ogden!
The Left Outs Manager brought me a Grand Junction Rockies t-shirt when he was west toward the end of July. He said it represented that the Denver club was playing like they belonged in the rookie league. I didn't think about him giving me the winner's t-shirt. How proud I am to wear that shirt. Each time I wear it, someone comments, usually like "where did you get that shirt." I guess they're in demand now.
